Built so you don't need an accountant
Katsjing is built by Whisper of Coding — an independent Dutch software studio with one goal: that freelancers and small businesses can do their own administration. No bookkeeping knowledge, no expensive help, no hassle.
The story
For most freelancers, the administration is a necessary evil. The big bookkeeping suites are full of features and jargon that require a course — so you pay an accountant, often hundreds of euros a year, for work that largely comes down to processing invoices and receipts and filling in the VAT return every quarter.
Katsjing turns that around. You send your invoices and capture your receipts; the package keeps your books in the background and prepares the amounts for your VAT return every quarter. Everything in plain language, and everything neatly by the Dutch rules: VAT correct to the cent, invoices with all mandatory details and reminders that stay within the law.
No annual accounts to prepare — like most freelancers with a sole proprietorship? Then you can genuinely do everything yourself. And if you still like working with an accountant, you simply invite them to view your books.

Katsjing is the first product of Whisper of Coding. Under that name I build careful, solid software for Dutch small businesses — with attention to privacy, correctness and a calm, fast interface.

I'm Richard van Deursen, founder of Whisper of Coding and the developer behind Katsjing. I build this platform from one conviction: a freelancer shouldn't need an accountant to keep their administration in order. Every feature therefore starts from the same question: can the entrepreneur do this themselves with it?
