No account, no fuss. The invoice is built with the same calculation engine and the same layout as Katsjing itself, so what you download here is exactly what you would send from your own bookkeeping.

Your details

These appear at the top of the invoice. A chamber of commerce number and a VAT identification number are legally required on a Dutch invoice.

"Save in Katsjing" stores your invoice in your own browser and takes you to the sign-up screen. As soon as your bookkeeping is ready, the invoice is there as a draft — with your customer alongside it.

What belongs on an invoice?

A Dutch invoice must contain a fixed set of details: your company name and address, your chamber of commerce number and VAT identification number, your customer's name and address, a sequential and unique invoice number, the invoice date, what you delivered and when, and the amount per VAT rate with the VAT stated separately.

VAT has to be broken down per rate. If you sell something at 21% and something at 9%, those appear as two separate lines below the total. This generator does that automatically and rounds per rate — the same way Katsjing does it in your bookkeeping.

If you supply a business in another EU country, VAT is reverse-charged to your customer. The invoice then states "VAT reverse-charged" together with your customer's VAT identification number; without that number the invoice is incomplete.

Frequently asked questions

Is this really free?
Yes. You do not need an account and nothing is charged. There is one line at the bottom of the invoice saying it was made with Katsjing — exactly as on the free plan.
Is my data stored?
No. What you type stays in your browser. When you download, the data goes to our server once to build the PDF and is not kept afterwards. Only if you press "Save in Katsjing" yourself does the invoice end up in a cookie on your own device.
Can I really send this invoice?
Yes, provided all mandatory details are on it. The generator tells you when something is still missing. Do keep an eye on your invoice numbers being sequential and unique — this page keeps no record of them.
How do I take the invoice into my account?
Press "Save in Katsjing" and create an account. Your company details are already filled in during the wizard, and once your bookkeeping is ready the invoice is there as a draft, with your customer alongside it. The final invoice number comes from your own number series.
Can I put my logo on it?
Not on this page: that would mean receiving a file from you, and that is precisely what this generator does not do. In your own bookkeeping you upload your logo once and it appears on every invoice and quote.

Done with this invoice? The next one writes itself.
